Dhaka – In the 5000 meters running competition of the 9th national sports selection competition being conducted in Mukam Khalanga of Karnali province, Jumla has won first place in both male and female categories.
Prakash Kathayat, a member of Karnali Sports Club Jumla, won the first place in the men’s 5,000 meters race. Sher Bahadur Adhikari from Jumla got the second position and Ajay Vick from Surkhet got the third position.
In Jumla’s final 5000-meter race, she won the first place for the elderly women. Vimala Karki of Surkhet and Nispa Malla of Calikot were the second runners-up. Binu Shahi of Surkhet, Samita Budha of Jumla came second and Ramira Shahi of Calikot came third in the women’s 100-meter race competition.
Hari Bahadur Rokaya, Athletics Coach of District Sports Development Committee, Jumla, said that Arjun Budha of Jumla won first place, Bharat Rana of Surkhet second place, Gobind Shrestha of Surkhet third place in men’s 400 meter running competition.
Secretary of Karnali Sports Club Jumla Dhanraj Sunar said that Ramita Khadka of Surkhet won first place, Nisha Pandey of Jumla second place and Nanda Kumal of Surkhet third place in women’s 400-meter race competition.
Among the rest who have nominated as members are Rama Shankar Choudhary 49, Jai Kumar Shrestha 38, Ishwar Bahadur Shahi 36, Thark Kumar Chomwang 35, Ashokkaji Thapa 34, Yogendra Subedi 31, Sudarshan Jamarkattel 30, Ram Bahadur Khadka 28, Bazh Bahadur Rawat 23, Shyam Kumar Acharya 22. And Chal Kumari Chantyal got 14 votes.
