Team India struggled against the South fast bowlers as they lost their first five wickets for 26 runs after Lungi Ngidi opened the wicket in the fourth over in a crucial T20 World Cup match in Perth on Sunday. However, Suryakyumar Yadav once again played a magnificent knock, dubbed “India’s knock in T20Is”, as the 2007 champions finished on 133 for nine in 20 overs. The momentum bowlers put the Proteas under early pressure as Arshdeep Singh picked two wickets with the new ball. (India vs South Africa Live Score, T20 World Cup 2022)
Arshdeep picked both wickets in South Africa’s second innings. He dismissed Quinton de Kock for a single in three balls, his first of the match, before he later got the better of the in-form Riley Rossouw and dismissed him for a duck. Much of the credit goes to captain Rohit Sharma, who goes to the spot for the DRS call, and wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik, who convinced him to make the call.

The delivery fell to De Kock, but Rossouw’s unsettled ball was clever. As the ball hit him on the inside edge and hit straight into the pads, the batsman looked to drive, not knowing if it was going to swing. The judge, who did not believe in the appeal, did not come out. Virat Kohli quickly ran to Arshdeep to ask his opinion and looked at Rohit. Arshdeep felt it coming out and so did Rohit. But Karthik was sure it was a wicket so Rohit called DRS.
Ball tracking showed it hitting the stumps. The Indian players cheered when the giant screen showed OUT, but Kohli’s reaction was pure gold.
After two wins in two games, India are close to reaching the semi-finals.
